This is a genuine natural white ammonite fossil approximately 180 million years old. Discovered in Sakaraha, Madagascar. Ammonites first appeared in the sea is 415 million years ago. This species thrived from the Jurassic period until the end of the Cretaceous period when the last species of ammonites became extinct. This early direct relative of the modern nautilus can grow up to 6 feet long. During medieval times ammonites were believed to be petrified snakes.
